The updated 2022 Australian Port Marine Safety Management Guidelines (the Guidelines) aim is to promote the implementation of good practice standards in the conduct of safe and efficient marine operations within commercial ports, thereby focusing on the protection of life, human injury, and damage to the port marine and terrestrial environment, property, and infrastructure. The Guidelines are not law. They are designed to provide guidance on good practice and to outline a template against which the policies, procedures and performance of port marine operational practice may be measured.
