Ports Australia is pleased to provide a submission into the Infrastructure and Transport Ministers’ statutory review of the National Transport Commission (the Commission). Ports Australia acknowledges the importance of Australian Government policy in enabling Australia to meet its evolving transportation needs and improve existing freight and passenger systems; and that appropriate reforms are necessary to achieve this. Ports Australia also appreciates the significance of the Commission’s outlined role to improve safety, productivity, environmental outcomes and regulatory efficiency. Ports Australia therefore welcomes the opportunity to contribute to this statutory review with the view to assisting with ongoing improvements to the transportation system in Australia.
