Mike joined Ports Australia in 2017. He has been instrumental in lifting the awareness of the Australian port sector and the important role it plays in Australia’s supply chain future.
He represents Ports Australia and the wider port sector on a variety of state and federal government committees. Mike is widely recognised for his robust approach to policy development.
Before joining Ports Australia, Mike was appointed the role of NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Minister for the Hunter and later the further role of Minister for Industrial Relations. Mike also served as a Police officer for over 16 years, including his appointment as a Detective.
Since 2020, Margie has led the policy and project work at Ports Australia, and also managed a number of the Ports Australia working groups from environment, planning and sustainability to logistics and more. Prior to joining Ports Australia, Margie worked at the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and before that worked at the Cancer Institute NSW.
Yvonne joined Ports Australia earlier in 2023 to manage the planning and organisation of committee meetings and member events and committee projects. Yvonne has recently been appointed Director Member Engagement to provide service, support and benefits to all Ports Australia members. Prior to joining Ports Australia Yvonne managed admissions and community relations departments in the Education sector.
Suzanne joined Ports Australia in April 2024 as Director, Industry Policy, bringing extensive experience in public policy and understanding of Government policy making. Suzanne most recently held the role of Executive Officer in the Government Relations Branch at NSW Ministry of Health. Her previous public policy roles include Executive Officer to NSW Police Commissioner Webb and a Director in the Office of the Commissioner of Police under Commissioner Fuller.
Suzanne has also held roles in the Office of Police; Police Association of NSW; as well as Head of Policy for the NSW Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for the Central Coast in the previous NSW Government.
Zara joined the team in 2024 and oversees Ports Australia's communications, marketing, and media efforts. Her diverse background in journalism and professional writing spans local and state government, industry associations, and most recently, the grains sector.
Joanne joined Ports Australia in mid 2024 in an administrative role to streamline office management and provide administrative support to the Ports Australia team. Joanne assists the Director of Member Engagement and brings extensive experience in administrative support, liaison and client service across various industries.
