Southern Ports has revolutionised the way it manages its ports through a significant $31.6 million digital transformation program, bolstering its landside and marine operations, and laying the foundations to undertake its $17 million operational technology upgrades.
Over the past three years, Southern Ports has concurrently implemented a new port management information system, a new terminal operating system, a certified and award-winning asset management system, a new safety management system, new contractor onboarding system, ITSM service system and a new enterprise resource planning system – all aiming to deliver technology-enabled operations to drive diverse and efficient services and stimulate new trade.
We caught up with Southern Ports CEO Keith Wilks after his session on Digital Transformation at BizOps 2025 to discuss what has made this project a success.
