Established in 2023, the Parliamentary Friends of Ports provides a non-partisan forum for parliamentarians to meet with Ports Australia and its members on matters relating to the port and maritime supply chains. The group is open to all Senators and Members of Parliament and has no sponsorship from external organisations.
As the peak body for ports, Ports Australia engages regularly with the Parliamentary Friends of Ports, as well as other Ministers, government departments, and regulators to advocate for outcomes that recognise ports as critical infrastructure and ensure trade operations remain sustainable, safe, efficient and effective.
