Ports Australia’s Trade Statistics Portal receives major facelift

frame

Ports Australia has made major changes to its Trade Statistics Portal, enhancing the resource with regularly updated trend data.

The Portal now contains monthly data dating back to January 2018, giving the opportunity to select ranges and compare throughput, value of cargo, vessel calls and commodities over any period of time.

View the portal here: https://www.portsaustralia.com.au/resources/trade-statistics

Ports Australia would like to acknowledge and thank its members whose contributions have been imperative to the formulation of this data.

The level and currency of reporting the Portal now offers cannot be found through government-produced statistics. What once was a place for Ports Australia to display yearly port throughput data is now a resource which can be used to conduct month-onmonth analysis of trade statistics.

At a time when reflections on our sector’s response to the pandemic and other world events, the analytical potential offered by the Portal will be invaluable.

This is a resource we invite industry, media, and scholars to utilise as they please and to contact us if they have queries.

Ports Australia will continue to consider how we revolutionise the way we share data in the future, but for now, please enjoy our Trade Statistics Portal.
