Ports Australia is a membership organisation. Members are either Ports in Australia or organisations that provide services to those Ports. If you would like to apply for membership please contact us. We currently represent 28 Ports around the county including the four major metro container Ports, key resource exporting Ports and vital regional Ports. We also have a long list of associate members who provide Australia's Ports with services that allow them to continue to operate efficiently and safely, as well as a number of international member ports from across the South Pacific Region.
Our membership accounts for over 95% of Australia's imports and exports.
We have two classes of membership:
- Full members
To qualify as full member an organisation must be an operational Port, Government Regulator or Policy Agency.
- Associate Members
To qualify as an associate member an organisation must offer services to Ports or be part of the Port community. This includes single terminal operators who exhibit significant interest or have the features of a port authority/corporation. Associate members can also be organisations that offer corporate services to the Port such as port related businesses (such as providers of cargo related services) and port consultants (such as engineers and lawyers). - International members
To qualify as an international member, an overseas organisation must be an operational port or be part of the Port community. Such organisations are valued members of Ports Australia due to the unique perspectives they're able to contribute to the knowledge pool that all of our members – local and overseas – utilise on a day-to-day basis.
